Three factors were taken into consideration: eliminating redundancy, providing consistency across ad units & including the best of sponsored stories in all ads.
Sponsored stories are messages from friends about ways they’ve engaged with a Brand & businesses are able to pay to promote these stories.
Since high-quality, larger images drive more engagement, Facebook has expanded the size of images in many ad units.
For example, Page post link ads now feature a 3.5x bigger image than the existing design on desktop, so by clicking on the entire image people are led directly to your website!
Another important improvement is the consistency that now exists across News Feed desktop and mobile placements, which makes optimizing and designing ads easier than before.
So, now the image of an offer ad delivered in News Feed mobile will match the ad image in News Feed desktop.
The new formats are expected to launch in September, but we’re already… ready for the upcoming Facebook reality!
