Google has built Google Shopping for Suppliers in order to enter the B2B shopping segment. B2B shopping is unique in its transactions so the set up process of Google Shopping for Suppliers is different from Google Shopping. It is still in the beginning and verification fees may change in the future but for now this new model is tied to a new Google Verified Supplier program, which includes a one-time verification fee.
Google verified suppliers get a badge on their listings and their products appear higher in the search results than the products of unverified suppliers. The problem is that the products of verified suppliers appear above the ones of unverified suppliers in the search results even though they are less relevant to the actual search! Google Shopping for Suppliers is still very new, showing in the US only, and we are waiting to see its success.
